As the WCRS Education and Training Coordinator, you will be responsible for conducting trainings related to all aspects of reporting cancer cases to Wisconsin’s central cancer registry to meet state and federal reporting requirements. You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining training documentation, online modules, and a role-based training curriculum for any new functionality, and existing functionality documentation that may be out of date. Additional duties include:
- Evaluating cancer data quality and implementation of cancer data quality improvements (implementing cancer case data collection, performing cancer case abstracting, consolidating, case finding, and coding, and coordinating the data editing process.).
- Functioning as the WCRS medical data expert for the cancer incidence data collected from hospitals, clinics, laboratories and physicians per WI State Statute 255.04 and for cancer mortality information from death certificate files.
- Conducting both one-on-one and statewide trainings and conduct and record web-based trainings for reporting facilities on RegistryPlus information systems, cancer case finding and abstracting to ensure high quality data meets all state and federal guidelines.
- Managing and updating WCRS training processes.
Researching and reviewing cancer literature to ensure the most relevant information is used in trainings and announcements. - Creating and managing all training materials, including WCRS reporter page website and web-based trainings.
- Training WCRS staff on evolving abstracting software updates, coding, and staging requirements.
