Institutional Liaisons

NAACCR Liaisons

NAACCR is represented by appointed individuals that serve as the organization’s Liaison with other Stakeholder Organizations. These NAACCR Institutional Liaisons lend their expertise at the respective organizational meetings and relay NAACCR membership initiatives and interests. The Liaisons attend periodic meetings of the respective organizations and act as a critical conduit of information directly to the NAACCR Board of Directors and membership.

American Joint Committee on Cancer

The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) was established in 1959 to formulate and publish systems of classification of cancer, including staging and end results reporting, which will be acceptable to and used by the medical profession for selecting the most effective treatment, determining prognosis, and continuing evaluation of cancer control measures. The AJCC has 20 member organizations. Membership is reserved for those organizations whose missions or goals are consistent with or complimentary to those of the AJCC. These organizations generally demonstrate involvement or activity in one or more of the following areas: cancer epidemiology, patient care, cancer control, cancer registration, professional education, research, or biostatistics.

Commission on Cancer

The American College of Surgeons established the Commission on Cancer in 1922 to develop standards for treating cancer. The Commission on Cancer (CoC) is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive quality care.

Comprehensive Cancer Control National Partners

Formed in 1998, the CCCNP assists comprehensive cancer control (CCC) coalitions to develop and sustain implementation of comprehensive cancer control plans at the state, tribe, territory, U.S. Pacific Island Jurisdiction and local levels. Today, the CCC National Partnership is an influential group of eighteen leading cancer organizations (Including NAACCR) that utilize their combined strengths and resources to change the trajectory of the cancer burden in the U.S.

International Cancer Control Partnership

The International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) is a group of international organizations (Including NAACCR) engaged in cancer control planning efforts. The Partners are seeking to create synergies to maximize collective resources and efforts to support the development, implementation and evaluation of national cancer control plans.

One Voice Against Cancer

One Voice Against Cancer (OVAC) is a collaboration of national non-profit organizations representing millions of Americans, delivering a unified message to Congress and the White House on the need for increased cancer-related appropriations. NAACCR is an active member of this organization.

Pathology Electronic Reporting Task Force

To oversee, guide development, and assist in maintenance of the CAP electronic Cancer Checklists (eCC). The PERT Committee oversees eCC informatics issue reconciliation as well as the interactions between the eCC Team and the CAP Cancer Committee with regard to content issues and paper/electronic checklist release coordination.

Digital Bridge

Launched in 2016, Digital Bridge creates a forum for healthcare experts, public health professionals, and industry partners to discuss the challenges of information sharing and incubate solutions for a nationally consistent and sustainable approach to using electronic health data. A unique characteristic of Digital Bridge is its commitment to promoting bidirectional information exchange between healthcare and public health, ensuring that the needs of each stakeholder group are met and fostering a better connection between the two, a relationship that is integral to efficient public health surveillance.

International Association of Cancer Registries

The International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR) was founded in 1966, as a professional society dedicated to fostering the aims and activities of cancer registries worldwide. The Association was created to foster the exchange of information between cancer registries internationally, so improving quality of data and comparability between registries.
