Resources and Training Programs for Cancer Registrars
Listed below are resources for cancer
registry and surveillance education and training.
The NAACCR Education
Committee was assigned the task of identifying current cancer registry training
and education resources, identifying gaps, and determining additional
activities which need to take place to meet the training and educational needs
of the cancer registry community. The Central Registry Education Material
Matrix lists current education and training resources available to the cancer
registry community by topic and includes the resource provider and a web or
publication address. Resource providers include NAACCR, the SMOs, and other
agencies. The Central Registry Education Materials Matrix will be updated
annually.
The following organizations contributed to the resource list and can be contacted to provide more information about the publications or programs listed.
Industry
and occupation information is essential to increase understanding of the role
of occupational exposure in cancer occurrence and to conducting occupational
cancer surveillance and research. To aid cancer registrars in the collection of
these data, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health (NIOSH)of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has
created A Cancer Registrar's Guide to Collecting
Industry and Occupation.
