The University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Institute invite applications for Director of the Utah Cancer Registry. The Utah Cancer Registry is a member of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result (SEER) Program sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and facilitates high-quality cancer research activities by providing extensive cancer data for approved research projects (in the Intermountain area and nationally). The Director will oversee all registry activities and develop and coordinate registry policies and procedures and serve as Principal Investigator of the SEER contract.
The successful candidate must have a record of excellence in cancer research and research project management as demonstrated by cancer-related publications, and must understand issues related to gathering complex medical data and conducting database research. SEER specific grant opportunities are available.
Candidates should have an M.D. or Ph.D., and must qualify for a faculty appointment in a relevant department at the University of Utah with an appointment as an investigator at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
