Job Duties: Under general supervision by the Health Analytic Section Chief in the Office of Health Informatics, this position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of the Wisconsin Cancer Reporting System’s (WCRS) quality assurance plan. This plan is consistent with Department guidelines as defined by Chapter 255.04 Wisconsin Statutes, Cancer Reporting, and the National Program of Cancer Registries Program Standards as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Cancer Surveillance Branch. This position is responsible for ensuring the data system and quality objectives and priorities are met.
This position works in collaboration with the WCRS Program Director, Data GIS/coordinator, Education Coordinator, and CDC Registry Plus programmers in the application and feasibility for employing complex, emerging software technologies for WCRS. This position ensures that data entities and relationships are consistent with Department and CDC models and data policies to facilitate integration between other data systems, where appropriate,coordinates and implements the integration of such systems. This position coordinates all access to the WCRS data system and develops the business rules and specifications for maintenance and enhancement of the WCRS database. This position has the main responsibility for data editing activities, developing quality control methods/procedures to assure completeness and timeliness of data and all annual data submissions to national standard setters. The position develops long-range strategies for database quality control management and compliance with federal and state standards as well as report development and analysis.
