NAACCR | North American Association of Central Cancer Registries

This is a professional planning and research position and the work entails ensuring that the data collected by the Maine Cancer Registry meets national standards for completeness, timeliness and quality and can be used for purposes of state and national cancer control. A combination of eight years of education, training, and/or experience is required. This position requires the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) accreditation as well as experience as a hospital or central cancer registrar. Work is performed under limited supervision.  This position is not a remote position

• Provide training and education to reporting facility staff and health care providers
• Ensure the quality and complete processing of incoming data
• Consolidate duplicate source records from multiple hospitals to include the best data from all of the sources submitting data
• Perform and oversee either the pathology or death clearance procedure
• Assist with requirements for annual data submission to NPCR and NAACCR, including resolution of edits prior to the data call and assessment of data duplication
• Provide technical support for reporting hospital cancer registry staff as well as central registry staff
• Oversight of contracted cancer registry workers as well as supervision of other cancer registry staff, as needed
• Participate in special projects, research, and QA activities
